SiriusXM radio host Seth Rudetsky is bringing his Broadway concert series back to Chicago! Back for more after his fabulous concerts with Norbert Leo Butz and Lillias White, Rudetsky is returning with Tony Award winner Jessie Mueller (Beautiful, Waitress, Carousel, and The Minutes) for a one-night-only special-event concert that will be filled with intimate, funny, behind-the-scenes stories mixed with incredible performances of the songs Mueller has performed on Broadway and beyond.
The set list will have Mueller recreating show-stopping performances from her unique Broadway career, like “She Used to Be Mine” from Waitress, “If I Loved You” from Carousel and, of course, the title song and multiple hits from Beautiful, The Carole King Musical , the show for which she won the Tony Award!
Seth’s Broadway Concerts are always one-of-a-kind because they’re never fully planned in advance. In a past concert, Rudetsky remarked that Mueller should have been in Les Mis, and as soon as he started playing the intro to Eponine’s classic song, Mueller launched into an unrehearsed and amazing performance of “On My Own”. In a Vegas concert, Mueller confessed she always wanted to play Christine in Phantom Of The Opera so he surprised her by bringing up Brent Barrett who played the title role on Broadway and Jessie got to live her dream with him! Who knows what will happen at the performance you attend! This spontaneous evening of show-stopping stories and hit songs will also feature Mueller recreating her recent triumph when she put her own spin on Miss Adelaide at the Kennedy Center’s Guys And Dolls. If you love amazing music and sassy comedy, come see this one-night-only event!
